Manufacture of calcium chloride is carried out at the same time as producing sodium carbonate with the world-renowned Solvay process using ammonia. Working with salt and calcium carbonate, the composites mentioned above are obtained. The reactions can be summarized as follows:
2 NaCl + CaCO3 -> Na2CO3 + CaCl2
The pure solution of calcium chloride thus obtained, has to undergo many purification and concentration processes in order to produce solutions whose values are between 25 and 40% of CaCl2 or 77-80% flakes of CaCl2, CASO.
